We all have heard that voice inside our heads that expresses criticism, frustration or even disapproval about our actions at some point. We all have this inner critic (self-talk), and it’s different for each of us in its frequency and/or intensity.
It’s important to understand our “inner critic” so that we make sure this inner critic doesn’t influence negatively in our lives to the point that it can sabotages us and restricts us from having a happy and fulfilled life. Our inner critic is essentially a pattern of thinking that influences how we interpret ourselves and the world around us. It can affect our mental wellbeing if not careful, resulting in negative effects such as low self-esteem and low self-confidence.
